What Your Money Gets: Badlands Content Overview
Badlands is a standalone DayZ experience set in Nasdara Province, a roughly 267 km² arid region bordering Chernarus and Takistan. Understanding the content scope helps UK players judge whether the price represents value.
Nasdara Province
- 267 km² desert map
- Abandoned cities and towns
- Soviet-era military bases
- Oil facilities as landmarks
New Survival Systems
- Scarce, unreliable water sources
- Heat and sandstorm hazards
- House rebuilding mechanics
- Regional wildlife
Combat & Threats
- Region-specific infected variants
- New weapons such as the MP-18
- Long-range desert firefights
- Ammo and noise management
At under $25 (likely under £20), Badlands is priced as an expansion-style product rather than a full-price release, matching its positioning as a separate DayZ experience rather than DayZ 2.
How to Buy Safely in the UK: Step-by-Step
Follow this sequence to purchase DayZ Badlands at the correct UK price without overpaying or falling for grey-market traps.
Wishlist on Steam
Add Badlands to your Steam wishlist via the official listing. Steam will email you the moment UK pricing goes live and alert you to any launch discount.
Verify the Base Game Requirement
Check the product listing at launch to confirm whether ownership of the original DayZ is required, and factor that into your total cost if you are a new player.
Compare UK Storefronts
Once pricing is official, compare Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store GBP prices. Expect near-identical pricing across platforms at launch.
Avoid Grey-Market Keys
Skip key-reseller sites offering "cheap DayZ Badlands UK keys" before release. Pre-release keys do not exist legitimately, and revoked keys waste your money.
Buy at Launch or During Sales
If the under-$25 launch price fits your budget, buy at release. Otherwise, DayZ products historically appear in Steam seasonal sales within months.
UK players who already own the original DayZ should watch the official DayZ Steam news feed — publishers sometimes offer loyalty discounts to existing owners during launch windows.
UK Price Expectations vs Past DayZ Products
Comparing Badlands to previous DayZ pricing gives UK buyers a realistic forecast. The table below shows how Bohemia has historically priced DayZ products in GBP terms.
| Product | Launch Price (USD) | Typical UK Range | Model |
|---|---|---|---|
| DayZ (base game, 1.0) | $44.99 | ~£35 | Full release |
| DayZ DLC/Livonia | $13.99 | ~£11 | Expansion |
| DayZ Badlands | Under $25 | Estimated £17–£20 | Separate experience |
The £17–£20 range is a conversion-based estimate only. VAT inclusion and regional Steam pricing mean the final UK figure may differ. Treat any exact number published before release as unofficial.
